Hike day hits different
Why Hi Country Hounds
THE RIGHT PACK CHANGES EVERYTHING.
Hi Country Hounds hikes dogs across Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, the Denver foothills, and West Denver. Dog hiking and dog walking are what we do, but the good stuff happens once we hit the trail: creeks to cross, rocks to scramble over, ridiculous smells to investigate, mud to stomp through, and trail friends to tear around with before heading home completely spent.
Give it a few hikes and they start recognizing the truck, their trail friends, and exactly what day of the week the good stuff happens.

A NORMAL DAY FOR YOU.
THE BEST DAY OF THE WEEK FOR THEM.
Workday packed? Heading down the hill? Broncos game, ski day, holiday plans, or someone watching the house who is not up for a mountain hike? We pick up your dog, take them into the mountains, and bring them home after a proper adventure.
You get live GPS, trail photos, and a quick report. They get the kind of day they would have chosen for themselves.
Starting is easy
FIRST HIKE.
ZERO DRAMA.
EVERY DOG STARTS SOLO
If you are home, we meet briefly before a 45โ60 minute solo hike. If access is arranged, we skip the human meeting and give your dog a full hour on the trail.
THEN WE BUILD THEIR CREW
We learn their pace and personality before matching them with compatible trail friends. Regular hikes include a full hour minimum, and plenty of hike days run longer.
YOU GET THE RECEIPTS
Pickup and return, live GPS, trail photos, and a quick report. They come home after a 2โ3 hour door-to-door adventure.

The stuff people ask before hike one
GOOD QUESTIONS.
EASY ANSWERS.
Do I need to be home?
No. Arrange access and we can handle pickup and return while you work, ski, run errands, or generally have a life.
How long is my dog gone?
Usually 2โ3 hours door to door. Regular hikes include a full hour minimum on the trail and typically cover 2โ3 miles.
What happens on the first hike?
Every new dog starts solo. If you are home, we meet briefly before a 45โ60 minute hike. If access is arranged, we skip the meeting and give your dog a full hour on the trail.
How do you choose their crew?
We match for pace, personality, play style, and what helps each dog have a genuinely great day. Crews stay at four dogs or fewer.
What if my dog is reactive?
Solo hikes are always available. A dog does not need to be a social butterfly to get a proper mountain day.
Do I have to join Trail Club first?
No. Book one first hike and see how it goes. New dogs can also join Trail Club immediately and use their first credit for hike one.
Do dogs ever hike off leash?
Sometimes, but nobody gets handed the keys to the mountain on day one. About 96% of our hikes are on leash. Off-leash crews are the top tier of Trail Club: invitation-only, trail-specific, and reserved for highly distinguished dogs who have demonstrated excellent judgment despite being dogs. After at least three hikes, real-world testing, our approval, and successful completion of the secret handshake, the right dogs may earn their spot.
Do you really hike all year?
Yep. Cold, snow, mud, and normal Colorado nonsense are part of the job. We adjust the trail and plan when conditions require it, but HCH operates seven days a week, year-round.

โ โ โ โ โโOur rescue pup was reactive to men, and now sheโs become way more trusting. Her confidence has grown immensely after only three hikes. Casey genuinely cares about our pup and her progress.โ
